We the undersigned demand the immediate cancellation of the World Gay Pride Parade (a week-long celebration of lesbians and homosexuals) in Jerusalem. Holding this event, in Jerusalem in particular, severely undermines the age-old Jewish character of the city, and the values that Jews and non-Jews—in Israel and the world over—hold sacred.
Holding this event, in Jerusalem in particular, is a slap in the face and a deliberate affront to all that is precious and holy in the city of Jerusalem, in the eyes of the entire world.
It is an unprecedented act of provocation, the likes of which has not been seen since the Roman conquest and destruction of the city. Such an event is deeply insensitive to the city’s population and threatens to rip apart the fragile fabric of daily coexistence between the members of the three major religions. It represents a clear and present danger to the public order and the welfare of Jerusalem’s residents.
Let us prevent this everlasting source of shame! It can and must be stopped - NOW !
