HIV/AIDS in Eastern Europe
Статья в Журнале “Science” о СПИДе в Восточной Европе.
В основном, про Россию.
Stas Fedorov, 23, started living on the streets of St. Petersburg, Russia, when he was 7. “I’m not afraid of anything,” says Fedorov. But fortunately, HealthRight International, a nongovernmental organization (NGO) in St. Petersburg, is afraid for him and other street youth. After a study conducted by HealthRight and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in early 2006 found that 37.4% of these street youth were infected with HIV, the NGO began working with Fedorov and other kids to help them improve their lot in life.
