In fact, I have a sheet of paper (called the diploma of candidate of physico-mathematical sciences obtained offically without a supervisor) which Russian scientists usually refer to as Ph. D. However I use it only in Russia and only for such kind of official bodies which, from my point of view, simply should not exist. Четко и ясно.
