11:52a	Я поместил в коммьюнити sup_ru@lj следующий комментарий к посту Брэда Фитцпатрика (http://community.livejournal.com/sup_ru/32848.html): What you say clearly contradicts what Nosik says. Moreover, you started saying that ("no private information etc") only now. Before, the answers given to users by LJ administration were vague and gave very bad impression of being pure salestalk. It is clear that you (SixApart) had not done your homework before starting all this. Namely: - you had no idea that Cyrillic is used by not Russians only, - you had no idea how many Russian-language users reside in other countries and are citizens of those countries, -you had no idea of the deep mistrust of Russians of any political orientation and place of residence towards any Russia-based organization, - you had no idea of Nosik's personal reputation, -you had no idea and looks like you still have none about Russians' reaction to salestalk, as well as about their capacity to identify contraditions and intentional vagueness. In the meanwhile, it looks like transfer of "cyrillic users" to new clusters is going on and is almost over. You may say that this has nothing to do with SUP, but will we believe you when suddenly we discover that most cyrillic users are on numbered clusters, and most non-cyrillic ones, on named clusters? Too interesting a coincidence for our taste. In the meanwhile, you keep losing users, and the more one hears vague answers, the more users decide that enough is enough. 12:10p	Ещё одна нормальная история с грузином. Газовых камер пока нет. Кто читал "Говорит Москва" Даниэля? Тогда его за это посадили, а сейчас бы просто никто не прочёл, а кто прочёл бы, к вечеру бы забыл. Кто тосковал по советской власти? Вот она, вот она, на хую намотана. (44 Comments | Comment on this)
7:53p	L'anglais и French Я читаю сейчас Андре Жида, Ecole des femmes. Хорошая книга, хотя не идёт ни в какое сравнение с Les faux-monnayeurs. Там цитируется кусок из "Джейн Эйр", по-французски, но даётся в сноске оригинал. Сравнение поражает. Вялый и блёклый французский текст является достаточно точным переводом выпуклого, образного, эмоционально убедительного английского. (Кстати, я когда-то читал "Джейн Эйр" по-русски и перечитывать не собирался. Теперь, конечно, перечту по-английски. Но вот что удивительно: я не могу сформулировать претензий. Вроде всё в переводе правильно. И, конечно. если бы был лучший, Жид использовал бы лучший. Так что же это - свойства языка? Но ведь и верно: ну не могу я представить себе "Моби Дика" по-французски.
