The sacred letter Shin has the following meaning:
The Institute of Israel Studies (Institut für Israelogie) explains the meaning of this symbol: the blessing of Aaron for the entire Jewish people. When priests say the Aaronic blessing, they usually offer to raise both hands and dilute the fingers of the hand with the maximum distance between the middle finger and the unnamed finger and with the thumb aside ("three-finger brush"). Thus, the fingers form the letter שׁ (Shin), which is an abbreviation of the word "Shaddai" (Almighty).

The Jewish Historical Society in Augsburg (Jüdisch Historischer Verein Augsburg) explains the meaning of this symbol in the same way:
"The two widely spaced "three-fingered" hands (thus symbolizing the Hebrew letter Schin, abbreviated as the name of God (the Almighty) Schadai) are essentially the family crest, probably the oldest in the world. It characterizes the members of the Cohen (Cogan) family, the descendants of Abraham, Moses' brother from the biblical trunk of Levi, who conducted services in the shrines of Israel. The oldest archaeological evidence shows this symbol on the tombs in ancient Israel, dating back to the times of the first temples.
In Kabbalah: the Shin matters the fire.
