Из месторождений Калиакра и Каварна на Черном море, Болгарий будет покупать ежегодно 0,4 млрд куб метров газа. В августе Melrose Resources открыла третье месторождение Галата, что, по мнению властей Болгарии (вместе с первыми двумя), позволит покрыть 15%-20% потребностей страны в газе. За газ из собственных месторождений Болгария будет платить на 30%- 60% меньше, чем за газ, покупаемый у "Газпрома", заявил ранее министр экономики и энергетики Трайчо Трайков. Однако Болгария продолжает поиски иных источников сырья. С прошлого года София ведет переговоры на предмет покупки азербайджанского газа. Предполагается, что газ будет поставляться по Черному морю на кораблях в сжиженном виде. Это будет одним из главных вопросов в ходе переговоров с премьером Грузии Никой Гилаури, который в понедельник, 4 октября с официальным визитом прибудет в Болгарию. Газета напоминает, что София могла бы присоединиться к планам консорциума AGRI (Грузия, Азербайджан, Румыния, Венгрия), который планирует транспортировать азербайджанский газ в Европу, а также является участником проекта NABUCCO. The new field spreads over 19 sq km and the company is required to extract 255 million m3 of gas between 2011 and 2015. Revenues over the seven-year period are expected to exceed USD 73 M. The Kavarna deposit is located in the Black Sea shelf near the town of Kavarna, and has an area of 4.36 square km. It is estimated to have about 773 million cubic meters of gas, and its extraction can start in 3-4 months. The new deposit is located close to the Galata platform and the adjacent gas processing facilities in the region of Varna built by Melrose Resources. The Kavarna deposit itself is not big but together with two other deposits nearby – Kaliakra and Kavarna East – it has a total of 3 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
