Mastectomy, attributed to a Dutch artist, 17th century
The operator excises the breast with the "tenaculum helvetianum". His assistant has a case of lancets etc. attached to his belt. A set of cautery irons is smouldering on a stand on the left. The patient is seated, held by two men: she appears to be fainting. On the right, a man in a tall hat points towards her: he is possibly meant to be a physician.

Theodoor Rombouts был прав! Мне вчера точно так удаляли зуб! За четыре столетия ничего не изменилось! Зуб вынимали по частям, до сих пор сижу с распухшей десной и с садиной под глазом. Рука волшебного доктора сорвалась со щипцами с зуба и , он заехал мне прямо под глаз!:((((

Ну а со мной это впервые! И доктор-то и в самом деле прекрасный, я его просто боготворю: стоматолог и НЕ САДИСТ!Но случай в его практике и в самом деле со мной попался очень сложный!:(
