Master MZ . Гравюры- 1500 Master MZ .German- 1500Also Known As Master MZ; Monogrammist MZ; Matthäus Zasinger (?); Matthäus Zaisinger (?); Matheus Zinck (?) ![]() ![]() Master MZ (Print made by); Memento Mori; a nude woman holding a sundial, standing on a skull; with vast landscape behind. c. 1500-02 ![]() Master MZ (Print made by); The greeting; a young man with sword, turned to the right, holding a woman's hand; with banderole without text. c. 1500-... ![]() Master MZ (Print made by); The pair of lovers; a young couple seated, gazing tenderly at each other, within a landscape with lake. c. 1500 ![]() Solomon's idolatry; the king kneels in a room before the statue of the idol to the right, while one of his wives stands behind, putting one hand on his back and pointing to the statue. 1501 Engraving ![]() St Ursula; the saint stands within a landscape, turned to the right, holding a book and arrow. c. 1500-03 ![]() St Margaret; within a landscape the saint stands in the centre, holding a staff, with the dragon at her feet to the left. c. 1500-03 ![]() St Catherine; the saint standing within a landscape, turned to the left, holding a book and sword; the broken wheel lies at her feet to the left. c. 1500 ![]() St Sebastian; the saint bound to a log, pierced by three arrows; slightly damaged. c. 1500 Engraving ![]() Knight and Lady on horseback; riding towards the right; landscape with lake and town in the background. c. 1500-03 ![]() The embrace; a couple, standing in a parlour to the left; suspended from the ceiling is a "Lüsterweibchen" (chandelier with female torso and stag antlers). 1503 ![]() The martyrdom of St Barbara; within a landscape, the saint kneels in the central foreground, her head being pushed down by her executioner, who is raising his sabre with his other hand. c. 1500-03 ![]() The beheading of St John the Baptist; the executioner stands to the right before St John in the centre, whose head he presents to Salome to the left on a tray; Herodias stands behind her daughter; landscape with lake in the background; two angels at top are lifting the martyr's soul upwards. c. 1500 ![]() The four soldiers; within a landscape, four warriors are standing next to one another, equipped with lance, banner, drums and flute. c. 1500 ![]() The King's three sons shooting at their father's corpse; the dead king's body is bound to a tree to the left and pierced by two arrows; the third son, who refused to shoot, is being crowned at the right by Solomon (?), depicted on horseback. c. 1500 ![]() The Virgin and Child by the fountain; catching water with a pitcher from a spout; landscape with lake and village in the background. 1501 ![]() The martyrdom of St Catherine; the saint kneels in the central foreground, turned to the right, with the emperor Maxentius, an apparitor and her executioner standing behind; to the right are three angels without wings, holding a drapery; in the background is a vast landscape with lake, buildings, equestrians and the destroyed wheel; two angel fly above; with defects. c. 1501 ![]() The woman with an owl (light and darkness); a woman standing in the centre, protecting an owl with her dress to the left; she turns her head toward the lightning bolts and banderole with text at the upper right; within a landscape with lake. 1500 ![]() St George; the knight depicted on horseback, with raised sword, underneath the horse lies the dragon, pierced by a lance; the princess with lamb stands on a hill in the left background. c. 1500 ![]() Aristotle and Phyllis; the philosopher, carrying Phyllis on a piggyback ride around his garden, which is enclosed by a low wall in the background; two witnesses stand at the gate to the left. c. 1500-03 ![]() The tournament; several knights on horseback are fighting in the foreground on a plaza, accompanied by musicians to the left; in the background are several buildings, with spectators on their balconies; partly damaged. 1500 ![]() The grand ball; several couples dance in the foreground of a ballroom, musicians and jesters are standing on balconies on either side of the room; a noble couple plays cards within an oriel in the background; the exterior town is seen through several windows. 1500 Engraving ![]() Fortune c. 1505 Black ink on paper, 259 x 165 mm Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nuremberg ![]() Woman Kneeling and Leaning Forward c. 1500 Ink and brush drawing on paper with greyish green ground, 118 x 140 mm Staatliche Graphische Sammlung, Munich ![]() Master M.Z. The identification of the Monogrammist MZ with the Munich goldsmith Matthäus Zasinger, or Zaisinger (fl. 14981555), was first mentioned in the XVIIc and had been a matter of debate since. Due to similarity of style between works by the Master MZ and MS (fl. 1521), it has been suggested that the works are by the same hand. None of these or other proposed identities is yet persuasive. http://www.wga.hu/frames-e.html?/ht http://www.artic.edu/aic/collections/se http://www.nga.gov/fcgi-bin/timage_f?ob http://www.artcyclopedia.com/artists/ma http://www.britishmuseum.org/default.as |
