>Once you have conscription, you have barrier troops and out of court executions for cowards. Not necessarily. Not with the internet existing, and with the hazard of something like this leaking to the west to watch, undermining the willingness to provide support. In Russia you can leak anything you want: executions, torture, whatever -- there will be no reaction, for the obvious reasons. >How do you force people to fight without barrier troops? By beatings, punishments, other repercussions, and by the simple fact that once people become soldiers they just fight by themselves, willingly. People don't want to be cowards, unmanly traitors, deserters. That's the cultural programming that every society maintains. They'll lose a number of soldiers (and in fact there are allegations that there are at least 100k deserters in Ukraine now, hiding), but the rest will remain willingly. Barrier troops is a specific type of enforcement -- troops staying behind and shooting those who retreat. There hasn't been any evidence of that on the Ukrainian side. Russian propaganda isn't evidence -- they have new "crucified boy" every hour. Добавить комментарий: |
