Difference Between New and Old Tiling
Basically cave wall (on the right) looked detached from the floor, but now the terrain below can match nearby wall for more organic look (on the left).

It is possible to do with older method, but that results into a combinatoric explosion with a number of tiles.

In other words it is not possible in practice outside of a limited number of cases.
