On Gender Dysphoria and Trans Identity

Been lurking on this thread and wanted to toss in my 2 cents on the whole gender dysphoria vs. trans identity thing. There's this idea floating around that a lot of trans girls with legit dysphoria never come out. Why? Too conformist, too scared, or just lacking the guts to own it. Takes real *balls* to step up and claim that identity, right? Instead, they play the "man" role, faking it through life, sometimes screwing over folks who rely on them for "manly" stuff. Picture a guy secretly hating his wife out of pure jealousy ‘cause she’s a "real" woman, or not vibing with his kids ‘cause he didn’t birth them and doesn’t have that fatherly instinct. Messed up, but it tracks.

Look at history—those Vietnam vet crossdressers who came out? They had the courage to fight for it, unlike your typical borderline transmaxxer types who stay closeted. Contrast that with someone like Alfrid from *The Hobbit*—total coward, right? Dude’s the type to bully LGBTQ+ folks just to prove he’s *not* one of them, even though he’s probably the queerest in the room. Classic overcompensation.

Here’s the kicker: trans *identity* ain’t the same as being transsexual. Identity’s a choice, something you lean into, but it might not match who you *are* deep down. Medical and social science folks care about the real deal—what’s actually going on with someone’s psyche or biology. Back in Tolkien’s day, “transgenderism” wasn’t a thing (it’s kinda a modern political buzzword anyway), but there were definitely unmanly types who’d now get slapped with an “incel-transmaxxer” label or a dysphoria diagnosis. Problem is, they’d deny it to their grave ‘cause society’s drilled into them that being trans is bad, and coming out’s risky.

Point is, trusting someone like Alfrid with “manly” duties—or even enlisting them in the army—is a disaster waiting to happen. They’re not just failing at masculinity; they’re undermining what modern feminism’s pushing for: that women can handle “manly” roles just fine. Instead, these types are out here looking for a “daddy” to complete them. Thoughts?
