Another detailed description of the avalanche at the Luther Pass, about
10 km from the spot where we were planning a ski trip this weekend, but
cancelled mostly due to closed and chain-controlled roads that would
make getting there miserable. There is a near-continuous succession
of winter storms in Sierra that left a total of close to 400 inches
of season snowfall by now, low temperatures, high winds, i.e. all that
makes epic conditions.

If it keeps dumping like this a couple of weeks more, we will have a
chance to ski into summer.
