    Kernel prepatch 3.12-rc7
    The 3.12-rc7 prepatch is out. Linus says:
    "The KS week is over, and thus the seventh - and likely the last - rc
    for 3.12 is out, and I'm back on the normal Sunday schedule.
    " He
    also warned that upcoming travel is likely to turn the 3.13 merge window into a
    relatively messy affair.

    Gentoo has updated automake (code execution), ffmpeg (multiple vulnerabilities), gnutls (multiple vulnerabilities), groff (multiple vulnerabilities), mplayer (multiple vulnerabilities), pmake (symlink attack), tptest (multiple vulnerabilities), and x2goserver (code execution).

    Mageia has updated dropbear (multiple vulnerabilities), icu (MG2; MG3: multiple vulnerabilities), python-oauth2 (man-in-the-middle attack), python-pycrypto (information leak), and x11-server (code execution).

    openSUSE has updated nmap (12.2: arbitrary file upload flaw).

    The Linux Foundation Technical Advisory Board election results
    The 2013 elections for five members of the Linux Foundation's Technical
    Advisory Board were held on October 23. The election, which almost
    certainly drew more interest than in any preceding year, re-elected Greg
    Kroah-Hartman, Thomas Gleixner, and Jonathan Corbet to the board; they will
    be joined by new members Sarah Sharp and Matthew Garrett.
