The 4.3 kernel has been released
Linus has released the 4.3 kernel right on
the 63-day schedule. "So on the whole, this remains a rather calm
release cycle until the very end. And with the release of 4.3, obviously
the merge window for 4.4 is open, and let's keep our fingers crossed that
that will be an equally calm release.
" 4.3 includes the ability to
add BPF programs to user-space probes, the "PIDs controller" (an
anti-fork-bomb measure), the removal of the
ext3 filesystem, support for identifier locator
    addressing
, the ability to handle page
    faults in user space
    , and more.

GNU Hurd 0.7, GNU Mach 1.6, GNU MIG 1.6 released
The GNU project has released GNU Hurd 0.7, GNU Mach 1.6, and GNU MIG 1.6.
The Mach 3.0 Interface Generator (MIG) translates Remore Procedure Call
(RPC) definition files to C code, and is required to compile any packages
that are receiving or invoking RPCs, such as GNU Mach, GNU Hurd, and the
GNU C Library (glibc) when compiled for the Hurd. GNU Mach is a
microkernel, upon which a GNU Hurd system is based. The GNU Hurd is the
GNU project's replacement for the Unix kernel. These releases contain
    improvements and bug fixes.
