US House Members by Generation (Aug 2024) | I was curious whether there were any regional patterns in the youth (or lack there of) of members of Congress. A few observations - New York’s recent turnover seems to have contributed to a younger delegation than say its fellow blue counterpart in California. The South has a lot more Gen X members than I would have suspected, and silent generation members are spread across rural and urban districts held by both parties. Utah, Maine, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Colorado, and Kansas are the only states where at least 50% of the delegation are millennials. Chinese map of UN member states in 1948 | From 'Illustrated Current Situation of the World' 世界現勢圖解 (1948) Mongolia is still labelled as Outer Mongolia but still is depicted as a country. Newfoundland still independent by that point. Indonesia is specifically labelled as 'United States of Indonesia ". Several countries had their old name displayed on the map: Ethiopia is still called Abyssinia. Jordan is still called Transjordan. Thailand is still called Siam. Ukraine and Byelorussia were depicted as member states of the UN Germany is depicted as one singular state. submitted by /u/Kaizerguatarnatorz [link] [comments]

European haplogroup combinations | Each haplogroup clade was imposed unto one another with multiplication blend at 90/255 opacity, then I onto R at 110/255, then R+I over all others (E, J, N, Q, G, etc.) with difference blending, then colors were inverted and saturation increased. I apologize for one layer being offset to the left (or rather stretched too far right), this map just shows general approximate unique local haplogroup combinations. submitted by /u/Guantanamino [link] [comments]
