2025 Canadian Federal Election with Australian multi-party preference voting | This map is assuming all NDP, Green and Liberal, Bloc voters and Conservative, and People's voters would be in the same preference vote, similar to Australia (If your first party reference is eliminated then your vote goes to your second). The result would be a better result for the NDP, Liberals, and Bloc at the expensive of the conservatives. This also interesting because the due to the fact preference voting in Australia caused the Liberal/National coalition to suffer further then in first past the post, due to a lack of vote when compared to Canada. (Current numbers are 170 Libs, 143 Cons, 22 Bloc, 7 NDP, 1 Green) submitted by /u/IsFluffy [link] [comments]

How Many of Your Senators Received Their High School/Post Secondary Degree From The State They Serve? | As the title says, these maps show how many senators, from each state, received their high school and post secondary degrees from the states they serve. This is a follow up to the map I posted last week regarding which Senators were born in the states they serve. While this offers more nuance than birthplace, it's definitely not a perfect representation of how strong of ties someone has to any given state. There are one or two who were raised in their respective states, but received high school degrees from schools across state lines. Interestingly, in states where only one in-state high school and one in-state postsecondary degree are represented, the degrees are often split between the two senators—rather than concentrated in one. submitted by /u/-MerlinMonroe- [link] [comments]

[OC] Crated maps of Scandinavian cities shaped by their street names | I've been creating typographic street maps of cities in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, where each road is drawn using its own street name. All data comes from OpenStreetMap, and the maps are generated with custom code, plus some manual cleanup. Thought some of you might find it fun or interesting, I would love to hear what you think! submitted by /u/ten56maps [link] [comments]
