My main reference was the IGN D24 map for roads, rivers, forests and farmlands. For monuments and castles, I researched images and descriptions mainly on Monumentum (a French heritage database). **Workflow**: Define the boundaries of the area. Trace main roads, rivers and landscapes. Add agricultural vs forest areas. Illustrate monuments one by one. So far it took me about 20 hours, and I’m still adding details!
