2022 Global Subnational Human Development Index | Spent over a month collecting data from Global Data Lab on the Human Development Index (HDI) for every subnation on the planet and putting it on a map. Those that didn't have data on Global Data Lab were either obtained through the closest Wikipedia statistics, or from Hypothetical Cities and Countries (for regions such as Ladakh, Abyei, etc.) North Korea is uniform throughout its provinces and only has full country HDI available for obvious reasons. I'm not sure if this has already been done, but the one listed on Wikipedia was from 2018 so I decided to make an updated version for myself. This is my first post, and because I'm basic, I used MapChart to make this. If you have questions about this, I will try to respond in the comments. Two mysterious 150-foot sinkholes with underground islands videoed while flying security mission in AH-64D Apache over Iraq near Al-Asad, verified on Google Earth [33°49'07.2"N 42°16'04.8"E] and [33°48'03.1"N 42°15'20.5"E]. Anyone have on ground pictures? | Cross posted on another subreddit, as I'm trying to find anyone who might have on ground pictures "over the edge" of the sink hole. I remember when flying the mission, we dropped to approximately 200 feet above ground and did a pretty tight orbit over the smaller and rounder sink hole. In the middle was an "island" with a tree on it, and it was completely surrounded by water. It was one of the coolest things I've discovered while flying. I suspect, based upon the wadis and ground water patterns, that there is potentially a cave system, though I don't know about the regional geology and whether it supports karst topography or not. Sorry about the potato-vision video...that was the early 2010's. Map making challenge. All regions of Italy in a week. | So since I'm weird, I set myself a goal of making maps of all regions of Italy in a week. Well, about a week. About 3 years ago I had a project here called 50 states in 50 days so I guess things are moving quicker now. I hope you enjoy these. submitted by /u/Puzzled-Sherbet-7850 [link] [comments] | |
