in Monteros, Restrepo, Iturralde, Jiménez et Baquero, 2023.

    Abstract
Río Manduriacu and Dracula reserves, owned by the Fundación EcoMinga, are located in northwestern Ecuador, which has been a hotspot for the discovery of numerous new orchid species in recent years. Here, we propose Lepanthes inesmanzanoae, a new species found in Río Manduriacu reserve in Cordillera del Toisán. This species is distinguished by the transversely bilobed, velvety petals with a minute process on the outer margin of the midvein, the lower lobe of the petal shorter, triangular, attenuate, the appendix triangular, acute and the bilobed stigma. The new taxon is described, illustrated, and compared to its most similar species. Additionally, we report four new records of the genus Lepanthes for Ecuador.

    Schistura syngkai
Choudhury, Mukhim, Dey, Warbah & Sarma, 2019

    Abstract
Schistura syngkai, a new stone loach, is described from the Twahdidoh Stream of Wahblei River (Surma-Meghna drainage) in Meghalaya, northeast India. It is unique among its Indian congeners in having a prominent dark-brown to blackish mid-lateral stripe about an eye diameter or more in width, overlain on 12–18 vertically-elongate black blotches on a golden-brown to amber body. Additionally, the species possesses an incomplete lateral line and a slightly emarginate caudal fin, and exhibits no apparent sexual dimorphism.

Keywords: Pisces, New loach, taxonomy, Surma-Meghna drainage, India

    Schistura syngkai, new species

Etymology. From the Khasi (an ethnic community of Meghalaya) word ‘Syngkai’ meaning a loach-like fish. A noun in apposition.
