Democratic PACs running Republican ads
Democratic PACs are running ads to help extremist Republicans win
primaries, in the hope that they will be easy to defeat in the general
election.
Aside from the fact that this is like betting double-or-nothing,
which is risky, it's also insincere. |

Musk wants to fire salaried workers
Musk said he plans to fire many salaried Tesla workers and hire more
hourly workers. In other words, he wants a more precarious work
force.
He also seems to plan to hire other salaried workers later this year
to replace those he is firing now. You'd think he could afford to
keep those workers on for the few months in between. Or is this
really a fire-and-rehire scheme to knock wages down? Musk has a
pattern of covering up nasty actions with distraction publicity. |

Fossil-fuel car sales will stop in EU by 2035
The EU countries agreed on a law to stop sale of new fossil-fuel cars
by 2035.
Avoiding global climate disaster requires much more than this, but at
least it's a step forward. Other major economies (such as the US)
have not done even this much. |

Thugs coerce asylum seekers into pushing migrants back to Turkey
*Greek [thugs] coerce asylum seekers into pushing [actually, rowing]
fellow migrants back to Turkey.*
And the thugs beat those up before before having them pushed back.
The refugees are told they will be charged as smugglers if they
refuse to help row the others back. |
