Europe high speed rail network
European countries are considering a continent-wide high speed rail network.
This is a very good thing to do; but to get the full benefit of it, we
must campaign against demanding ID from each passenger. Several
countries, including Spain and Italy, imposed that requirement as a
measure for tracking Covid-19 cases — but now that there are so many
cases, no country in Europe is really trying to find them all.
That means this anti-freedom policy is no longer justified. |

Possibility or resuming non-nuclear deal is ebbing away
The possibility of resuming Obama's non-nuclear deal with Iran is
fast ebbing away.
The blame for this falls on the wrecker, who cancelled the deal for
his own personal ambition (the main reason for everything political he
does).
Secondarily, it seems to fall on the Iranian hard-liners, for
preferring to make Iran a nuclear power, and on Biden, who gave
insufficient priority to avoiding that. |

Russia as terrorist state
Given the repeated acts of terror (war against civilians) carried out by
the Putin forces, we must treat Russia as a terrorist state.
I don't think that this offers a magic way to alter the direction of
the war. I don't think that the countries which now do business with
Russia will pay attention. |

People from Baloch minority killed or disappeared
Pakistan's suppression forces regularly kill or disappear people of
the Baloch minority. They mete out cruelty to peaceful protesters.
There has long been a separatist movement among the Balochi, but
extrajudicial killing and kidnapping are not a legitimate response. |
