Ukraine is failing to arrange places to stay, and essential support,
for people who flee from homes near the front.
I've been wondering why so many people remain in Ukrainian towns where
they could be killed or maimed by shelling, and where they may be
captured by the Putin forces and tortured, executed, or kidnapped and
taken to Russia. Perhaps it is because they have no place to flee to
and survive. |

government money and used it to ship good-paying jobs abroad. Now, as a
reward for that bad behavior, these same companies are in line to
receive a giant taxpayer handout to undo the damage that they did.*
If the US government does give these companies a subsidy, it should attach
conditions — let us turn off the DRM, the management engine, and so on. |
