    Authoritarian state characteristics

*[Bolivians] battle food shortages and health issues after [40,000 square miles] of forest and farmland burned last year.*

    Staff of US Digital Service

What is happening in Los Angeles is our future

*What is happening in Los Angeles is our future.*

The Tr-ance tells everyone to forget this; recognizing it insistently is one way to resist, and struggle for the survival of civilization.

    Subservience-signaling

US progressives have been criticized in recent years for "virtue-signaling" terminology that they pressure everyone to adopt,

Now magats have formulated subservience-signaling terminology; "Gulf of America" is one example. Those who don't adopt this terminology are threatened with discrimination by the government or by billionaires.

This term, though of little inherent importance, is the thin edge of an axe blade that the wrecker is swinging to cripple the free press.

Conquest of Australia by British colonists

An Australian commission has determined that the conquest of Australia by British colonists involved violently killing around 10.000 aboriginals.

That massive violence was just a part of it. I learned how this operated from a book called The Other Side of the Frontier, by Henry Reynolds. Colonists moving into an area occupied the river valleys to farm them. The local indigenous people still held most of the land, but they had lost most of the food resources. They could not survive that way.

I reject the term "first nations" because it is designed to impose an attitude of reverence which no ethnic group is entitled to. We can criticize colonialism without ritual bowing to the people who were colonized.

Ways UK could fund military buildup

An article considers various ways the UK could fund the necessary military buildup. The most obvious method, which would also correct the increasing concentration of wealth — to tax the rich more — is mysteriously missing from the list.

Palestinian flags covered in art display

The National Gallery of Australia covered up Palestinian flags in a piece of art on display as part of an exhibit, saying this was for "security".

It did not try to explain why the goal of "security" justified, or even suggested, such censorship.
