The
wrecker's henchmen have deported various people in defiance of
federal court orders.
The courts are the only force in the US that has been able to defend
human rights against his depredations. If his agents defy them with
impunity, that will imply the US government, and rule of law, have been

As a million people head home, thousands will step on mines. And
people will keep stepping on mines for decades, until the whole
country is demined, if that ever is done.
This is why the
treaty
to ban land mines is so important.
