Voter-ID executive order signed
The saboteur-in-chief signed an executive order which purports to block
citizens that lack a passport from
voting.
The right-wing extremists in Congress were going to pass a law to do this,
but but now the wrecker claims Congress is not necessary.

Urgent: Mahmoud Khalil petition
US citizens:
call
for the immediate release of Mahmoud Khalil a nonviolent protester
who demonstrated against Israel's bombardment and siege of Gaza. He
has not been charged with a crime, but the bully wants to cancel his
green card and
expel
him from the US without showing any grounds for that.

Hospital attack, Gaza
Israel attacked a hospital in Gaza and
killed
one of the leaders of HAMAS along with several doctors.
The leader was a legitimate target, I think, but I don't think his presence
in a hospital with doctors makes them legitimate targets.
Israel attacked
the
same hospital massively the day before.

US citizens: phone your senators and call on them to reject the

Urgent: Bills to wreck Social Security
US citizens: phone your congresscritter to support these bills
designed to prevent Republicans from wrecking the Social Security
Administration.
-
The Keeping Our Field Offices Open Act will block the closure of Social Security Field Offices for this presidential term.
-
The Protecting Americans’ Social Security Data Act will deny social security system personal data to outsiders such as the muskrat.
-
A Resolution of Inquiry to compel the saboteur-in-chief to disclose to
Congress information about outside sabotage activity at SSA and any
plans to close field offices or cut staff.
It won't be easy to convince Republicans to pass any of these, but
that could be possible if the public outrage at difficulties with
their Social Security Payments is strong enough to overpower their
obedience to their master. We can help make that happen.
If that happens, I suggest Congress also legislate to require rehiring
of all the fired SSA workers who are willing to return.
If you phone, please spread the word!

Federal Court jurisdiction
Republicans in Congress are
pushing
a law to block federal district courts from ruling that an illegal
nationwide practice must stop nationwide.
For instance, the question of whether the president, or a billionaire
outsider, can shut down Social Security Agency offices would have to
be litigated in each of the 90-odd federal districts. That would be
highly distracting, but We could call them federal distract courts.
If a decision by one federal appeals court could apply nationwide, the
system could still function. But there would remain the question of
how long it would take to stop progressive sabotage, for instance
firing 1000 experienced workers per business day. In such cases,
courts can issue preliminary orders which stop the dismissals
temporarily until there is a final decision in the case. If the case
had to go through two levels before that could be done, the damage
would continue for longer before a court can pause it.

SSA slowdown
How shutting Social Security Administration field offices would make
some workers
wait
a long time to receive their funds — unless they submit to
the injustice of using a snoop-phone.
I would not yield to using a snoop-phone, and I don't have one,
so I had to visit the Boston field office. Fortunately that wasn't
difficult then.

US visitors hesitation hurts US economy
Recent reports of harsh treatment of visitors to the US who had visas,
or even green cards, is making
Europeans
hesitate to visit the US. The decrease is enough to affect the
economy.
Businesses can learn to treat foreign visitors decently when cruelty
drives them to a boycott. However, people who care about goodness can
learn this point simply from seeing the avoidable suffering that
cruelty causes.

Robert Reich: Is the
muskrat
working for Chairman Xi?
I conjecture the muskrat thinks that Xi is working for him.
But I don't think Xi will let anyone else take any part of China
or Chinese business out of his control. A few years ago he slapped
down the most powerful tech businesses in China.

DOJ tactic to suppress dissent
The fascists now running the "department of justice"
plan
to investigate rhetorical links between student protesters and
real terrorist organizations including HAMAS.
As the author explains, this can lead to imprisonment (of Americans as
well as visiting foreigners) for what we would normally consider
constitutionally protected speech. If you show signs of being
influenced rhetorically by HAMAS slogans, they can try you for
providing HAMAS with the "service" of spreading its views.
This legal policy threatens freedom of speech in the US, and we need
to change it to shore up our constitutional rights. But since
American right-wing extremists don't believe in freedom of speech for
those who disagrees with them, they will be glad to terrorize
human rights-supporting dissidents.

A social media score for immigrants, US
The bully plans to demand anyone applying for a visa (or a green card,
or citizenship) to report their antisocial media accounts, so the
government
can judge their opinions.
This is a scheme to subvert freedom of speech, through intimidation.
Meanwhile, I wonder what they will do to people who say they don't
have any social media accounts — even if it is true.
The article assumes this will specifically target Muslims, but doesn't
provide a basis for that claim. Won't they persecute dissidents of
other religions too?

US responsibility to command NATO forces in Europe
Republican politicians disagree about whether the US should resign from its
responsibility to command NATO forces in Europe, or cling tightly to its
power that comes from that role.
It seems to me that once the bully cast doubt on whether he would try
to defend certain NATO countries, he also made the US untrustworthy
as commander of NATO forces. Would he command them to let Putin capture some
countries?

Members of British punk band denied entry to US
*Members of British punk rock band UK Subs denied entry into the US,*
where they were going to perform,
and there was some mystery about why.
It seems that the regime is trying to impose censorship on people who
might visit the US, to intimidate them from criticism. I expect this
will arouse a lot of hatred for the US.
It strikes me that these airport "waiting" rooms are designed to be
harsh. It can't be an accident that the rooms are cold or there is
nothing to lie down on. People who run prisons know what will make
prisoners uncomfortable, and the US could do better if it wanted to.
The punishment starts even before they say they have decided to punish
you.

Harder to get accurate economic data
*Instead of Dealing with the Weakening Economy,
Administration Officials Are Making it Harder to Get Accurate Economic Data.*
I have to make it clear that I don't believe that declining share
prices are the worst thing that could happen to the US. If they were
falling because corporations were going to have to pay more tax that
would be used to help working and poor people's lives, I would cheer.
If they were the result of policies likely to make Netanyahu or Putin
stop making war, I would cheer.
But since the stock decline is being caused by magats, I don't think
anything good is likely to result.

A French scientist who was sent by CNRS to a conference in the US was denied

criminal cases.
