A ruling in the Mahmoud Khalil case
*US judge rules Mahmoud Khalil
can
be deported [solely] for his views.*
(I believe this was the specially selected judge for whom they sent
Khalil to Louisiana instead of holding the hearing near New York.)
This ruling is worse than it purports to be. Supposedly the Secretary
of State can deport any non-citizen who perse claims is somehow harmful to the
country. But since there is no requirement to demonstrate that is
true, the Secretary of State could fabricate anything. The result is
a totally arbitrary non-process which can be used at any time against
any non-citizen.
A Secretary of State could print up form letters with duplicated
signatures with a blank for adding the target's name.
Requiring "due process of law" is the method used by US law to make
the government demonstrate grounds for decisions that deny a person's
rights. But a proclamation by an official is no proof, and citing it
is no real process. If courts accept that as satisfying the
requirement for "due process", due process becomes a sham and a
pretense.

Mahmoud Khalil legal struggle
Mahmoud Khalil's continuing legal struggle against being deported,
perhaps for his political views or for no known reason at all, is
complex since
two
parallel court systems are working on it. It is impossible to
predict the outcome, except that it's clear that the bully is out to get him.

Thousands SS numbers changed to "dead"
The persecutor has listed
6,000 immigrants
as dead to inactivate
their social security numbers.
How is it that these immigrants have social security numbers? Because
Biden gave them temporary protected status because of chaos or
repression in their home countries, and that includes permission to
work in the US — therefore, social security numbers.
The persecutor
abruptly canceled this permission to work. That could deny them
access to their bank accounts and pensions. This is gratuitous
cruelty.
If a country is no longer suffering from chaos or repression, its
refugees may no longer be entitled to temporary protected status. But
it is gratuitous cruelty to rush them to leave quickly. TPS has an
expiration date, so why not let them stay that while so they can
return home with a good plan?
That is assuming that a country's situation has improved enough to end
TPS for its refugees. As far as I have heard, nothing has improved in
Cuba, Haiti or Venezuela. The persecutor is piling one gratuitous
cruelty on another on another.
With the persecutor, it's cruelties all the way down.

White House may seek legally binding control over Columbia
*White House may seek
legally
binding control over Columbia through
consent decree – report.*
I don't think the wrecker
aims to destroy Columbia; he wants to make
it subservient. I wonder if New York State could pass a law
forbidding the accreditation of a university that doesn't respect
academic freedom, such that agreeing to such a consent decree would
force it to cease to operate. (This would be something like the
liberty-or-death-for-this-code clause of the GNU General Public License.)
If the wrecker
wants to destroy that university, he could do it this
way, but that changes little since he could destroy it in other ways.
But if what he wants is to have it continue to exist in a subservient
way, this could prevent it.
