Commissions are sexy Just to clarify, its alx_noriega(at)hotmail.comedit 1: Ok, so as I expected, a lot of people want to have an idea of what a commission would cost before considering it. It makes sense. For one illustration (or a one panel comic, however you want to call it) think about 100 dollars. This changes depending on the amount of details (it´s not the same to draw your grandma on a bike, than drawing the battle of Waterloo in color... it simply takes longer) . If you want a whole one page comic in color, it would be around 200 dollars... and so on. This is just so you have an idea of what you commission would cost. But at the end it depends of the time I have to put into it.... It is expensive, but you have to think about how many of these I need to draw to make a decent salary... now think of the time you spend at work surfing the web and actually getting paid. Now think of a pink elefant wearing a hat and a monocle... Voilà! |

El futuro es brillante by Elisa Riera When I was in Barcelona a few weeks ago, I went out one afternoon for a walk near downtown. I ran across my friend Elisa and we talked about how hard it is to find friends with whom you can talk about comics and share the same passion as we do. She's been working on this super cool autobio comics for some months now. You shouldn't miss them. I love Elisa's work.

I tried my best to make the flag look generic and not like any actual real flag. So, don't punch me, ok? |

So, you would like to share my comics... So, you would like to share my comics? That's perfectly fine as long as you give proper credit and don't manipulate the images. You can translate, make slideshows or videos without asking for my permission. You cannot print my comics in any format or merchandise. I don't do interviews or things of that nature because I'm not fond of that. Cheers! |

Isn't it ironic that I'm uploading a cartoon about being lazy when I actually didn't put any new stuff in more than a month? Irony is my middle name. |

The 1st SNOTM anniversary contest results and submissions! Alas, here are the results of the SNOTM contest. This took me super long because of my recent apartments change and due to the suckiness of the internet here in Maputo. I apologize about that to all the contestants. Ok, here are the three winner:
1st prize with the best combo of art/phrase goes to ...
Al Romuald Estrella from the Philippines (I think)... His/her entry is probably the nicest regarding color, composition and character design.
2nd prize goes to ...
Itchy Uvula from the internet!... (you should have written where you are from, dude). His/her entry is probably the funniest in my opinion. The simple drawing makes it even funnier and the color are simply very cool. If I had an indy band in the 90s, I would ask Itchy to design our cd cover and probably our videoclip too.
Now, the 3rd prize with the most inspiring phrase goes to...
Kang Sarmiento from the Philippines too! Her entry is not the best drawn, but I love how sensitive, calmed and positive the message is. Kang, I wish I was rich enough to buy you a scanner :)
Thanks so much to everyone that sent drawings and ideas, I wish I could send you all an original drawing! I had a great time reading all your comics and ideas. You guys rock!
Here are the rest of entries to the contest... some are creepy, some are cute... but they all are interesting and entertaining.
Thanks again and congratulations to all the winners!

Hey! I've been interviewed by the fine folks from E-junkie. You can read it here. Also, I got a TON of commissions requests and I'm going to be without internet for a few days ( we're moving to a new apartment)... So, I'm sorry if I'm not answering fast enough.
