1. Трамп раздолбал иранскую армию в мелкий пух, флота нет, ВВС нет, жизни нет, растительности нет, остались сотня-другая ракет, и там и сям закопаные дроны, чтобы мелко гадить.

2. Иран в ответ угрожает судоходству через пролив Ормуз - коммерческие суда не ВМС США, им ссыкотно лезть, коммерческому контейнеровозу даже против самого дешевого дрона сказать нечего.

3. Трамп зовёт европейских союзников по НАТО подключиться - заметим, не к настоящей войне, а всего лишь к охране судоходства. Причём, чбсх, подключаться можно долго и со вкусом - пока из Европы доплывут, уже может всё и кончиться. Ну и вообще, постоять рядом с ВМС США - это не такая уж чтобы супер опасная миссия. А о реальной силе европейских флотов Трамп вполне осведомлён, поэтому вряд-ли он рассчитывает на них в плане боевой мощи. Это был вопрос не о мощи, а о готовности.

4. Разумеется, европейские союзники тут же с возмущением отвергают какое-либо участие в этой авантюре - притом, что нефть, которую возят через пролив, США не нужна вовсе, а цены на углеводороды в США сильно полегче, чем в Европе, тогда как своих ресурсов, наоборот, сильно побольше.

5. Зато теперь, если европейцам что-то захочется попросить у США, у Трампа будет совершенно очевидный ответ (если он, конечно, захочет его применить) - когда я вас звал, вы где были? Теперь вы ко мне пришли, но просите - без уважения.

6. И это вещь вполне очевидная - не надо быть 4D гением, чтобы понять, что эти вещи следуют одна за другой. И тогда надо сделать вывод, что либо европейские лидеры настолько погружены головой в собственные жопы, что они этого не осознают - либо тот формат союзничества, который предполагался существованием НАТО и всей этой системой второй половины 20 века - им уже тоже неинтересен. И они, в свою очередь, совсем не против из этой системы выйти, особенно если в её развале можно обвинить Трампа, а они сами кагбэ не при чём.

7. И тогда вопрос - а на что они, собственно, в этом случае рассчитывают? На собственные вооружённые силы, которые якобы существуют и дико мощны, но просто вот им сейчас не хочется? И с этой хохмой они собираются воевать с Пуйлом и Винни-Пухом? Или на то, что никто воевать не будет, просто сдадим всё, что потребуют, а свои границы уж как-нибудь отстоим? Или может даже, не отстоим, а сольёмся в экстазе дайверсити? Или же, например, что президент Оказио-Кортес скоро придёт и всё обратно восстановит как было, и американская транс-армия, ведомая фурри-трансгендерными генералами, будет по прежнему щитом Европы? Вот тут, признаться, мне позиция в этих 4D совсем непонятна.

Чувак приехал за американской мечтой, нашёл свою любовь, построил свой бизнес, и тут на него напали фашисты в масках, неизвестно почему заключили в тюрьму (т.е. известно почему - они фашисты и ненавидят всех иностранцев!) и держат там многие месяцы без просвета, подвергая адским пыткам. Резист! Доколе!!!

Но тут есть несколько нюансов.

1. Чувак вьехал в 2009 по программе visa waiver. Одно из условий этой программы - 90 дней пребывания максимум.
2. Другое условие - автоматическая депортация по истечении 90 дней. Без слушаний, без адвокатов, без каких-либо условий и оправданий. Не хочешь - бери нормальную визу и там будет другой расклад. 
3. Разумеется, с 2009 у чувака было множество шансов сменить статус - но нет. Было недосуг.
4. А недосуг было вот почему - в 2009 чувачок приехал в Америку из Ирландии не столько в поисках американской мечты, сколько в поисках, как бы сбежать от ордера на арест за наркоторговлю. И ещё одного ордера за criminal damage. 
5. И именно поэтому его депортация, которая должна была бы быть моментальной, занимает много времени - обратно по месту проживания чувак ехать категорически не хочет, там он моментально присядет.
6. Насколько я помню, в формах на гринкард, на которые он подал, среди прочего есть вопросы о криминальной истории. Аресты, отсидки, все дела. Интересно, указал ли добрый ирландец эту историю в формах? Почему-то мне кажется, что нет. Во всяком случае, его адвокат об этой интересной подробности, похоже, узнала из прессы. 
7. И тем самым, он совершил угoловное преступление (felony) уже на американской земле, так что он теперь уголовник в двух странах.
8. В общем, отличный пример чувака, за которого в очередной раз надо всеми силами биться, чтобы он остался в Америке и поддержал нашу diversity, в которой сила.

Новая гениальная идея Трампа - ограничить ставки процента по кредиткам до 10%. Это очень популистская идея, особенно к выборам, но с экономической точки зрения это очень хуевая идея. Вот почему:

Сейчас ставки по кредитам у кредитных карт где-то в районе 25%. Это кажется полным грабежом, но если посмотреть на общую картину, то вырисовывается вот что: номинальный возврат на капитал у кредитных компаний - в районе 7% (ну, пару процентов туда-сюда, но в целом так). Если вы не помните, то доход по 10-летним казначейским облигациям - 4%. Т.е. за весь свой риск и за поддержку всей этой махины кредитные компании имеют где-то 3% прибыли плюс к ситуации, если бы они вообще ни хрена не делали, а просто покупали казначейские облигации. Конечно, 3% с оборота в триллионы долларов - это тоже неплохо, на хлеб с маслом хватит. Но откуда эти 3% берутся?

Как говорит нам дядя Фед, на 80% из процентов за кредиты, ещё на 15% - из всяких пеней, штрафов и поборов. Т.е. если урезать процентную ставку в 2.5 раза, то вся эта лавочка провалится глубоко в минус. А в минус никто работать не будет, поэтому если Трампу каким-то чудом удастся провести свой план в жизнь, то произойдёт следующее:

1. Людям с херовым кредитом просто перестанут давать карточки. Вообще. Сейчас процент по личной ссуде без залога - где-то 7-8%, но для того, чтобы её получить, надо предьявлять кучу документов, что у вас есть работа, дом и всё такое, чтобы в случае чего можно было вам предьявить. Если всё это отсутствует, то ставки на кредит становятся совсем другие, и ощутимо выше 10%. Если это запретить, то ссуды - или же доступ к кредиту - тем, чей риск дефолта больше 10%, просто не дадут. Т.е. да, прогнозы икспердов, что это сэкономит лохам кучу денег, в чисто техническом смысле могут быть верными - ведь если лох не получит ссуды, то ему и проценты платить не надо. Но, сдаётся мне, это не совсем та экономия, на которую лох рассчитывал. 

2. Основным расходом кредитных компаний являются призы. Все эти мили, кэшбеки, "открой карточку и получи бесплатный полёт в Европу", вся эта здоровенная и цветущаю индустрия заманухи. Как ни странно, чтобы дать вам $300, если вы откроете карточку - кредитной компании придётся потратить ровно $300, они их не печатают, это чистый расход (мили немного дешевле, но тоже небесплатны). Если доходы от процентов срубить, всё это пойдёт по пизде. Нет, для карт с годовой платой в тыщу в год, может, всё и останется, там другой расклад немного, и то же для бизнес-карт, где ожидаемый оборот в десятки тысяч в месяц. Но для простых коротышек, вроде нас с вами, лавочка закроется.

3. Заодно прилетит всяческим инфлюенсерам и блогерам - если сегмент, который надо привлекать к пользованию картами, сокращается, то нет смысла и тратить так много на рекламу и маркетинг. В хороших, жирных клиентах, конечно, по прежнему будет нужда, но в массовом потоке без фильтрации - которой только и могут обеспечить инфлюэнсеры - нужды будет гораздо меньше. Соответственно и многие из них неожиданно окажутся на морозе.

4. Кредитные компании вполне могут легализовать дополнительные поборы за транзакцию. Конечно, простейший способ - переложить это на продавцов, и поскольку это сделают все хором - ограничения-то одни на всех - то продавцам некуда будет деваться, да и регуляторам особо нечего будет сказать. Мелкие лавки просто перестанут принимать кредитки, а крупные - поднимут цены соответственно. В результате те самые сэкономленные деньги вернутся именно с тех, кто тратит большую часть своего дохода на товары немедленного потребления - то есть тех самых, кого планировалось облагодетельствовать.

They spent years gathering evidence including many hours of surveillance footage. In 2018 they compiled a detailed report and delivered it to their boss, the DHS Inspector General.
Directly from the report: "Investigators, as well as the Supervisor and Manager of this unit believe that the overall fraud rate in this program is at least 50% of the $217M paid to child care centers in CY2017."
And nothing happened. No, I'm wrong - they spent even more taxpayer money on covering the fraud up and extending it. It's not the case where they didn't know. Everybody knew. They did it on purpose.

2. FireAid Funneled Cash to Podcasters, Illegals and Fungus Planting
