    America; Native European Land?

Many Europeans in the USA argue that the first people to colonize the Americas were in fact Europeans. Archaeological evidence supports this too; men of European race were there already when the Asians arrived from across the Bering Strait many thousands of years later.

I don’t know if this is true. I don’t know if the archaeological evidence holds water or if it is fabricated by European extremists in the USA, but I am open to this idea, that America is in fact Native European land. If anybody can provide us with evidence in this context I welcome you to do so in the comment field below.

With that said though, I wish to say that the Europeans living there today are not descendants of the first European settlers or the younger Asian immigrants, but the Native Americans – as we call them today – are. It is obvious that the Asians mixed with these first European settlers and the result of this is a race that we know as Native Americans. So no matter how you twist this: the European forebears of the Native Americans were there first, and just like Englishmen today are descendants of the native British tribes as well as Anglo-Saxon immigrants, they are indeed native of their land. Not all their forebears were natives, but they are still the natives.

Not all the forebears of today’s Europeans were natives either. On average about 0,3% of our DNA is African, so obviously we had some African forebears too, but we are still the natives of Europe.

The Europeans who came to the Americas after Columbus re-discovered this continent are immigrants. They too are perhaps descendants of the Europeans who first colonized the Americas – we can assume that those who left were in family with those who stayed behind here in Europe – but they are no more natives in the Americans than Africans in Europe, even though Europeans too have some African forebears.

Those of European race living in the Americas are descendants of those who came uninvited to the land of the Native Americans, and they took it by forces. When the Natives resisted them, or “ambushed the poor pioners who traveled to the Wild West” they only defended their homes. If tribes of Africans came to Europe today, setting up colonies along our coast at first and then started to enslave Europeans, rape our women and force people out of their homes then the Europeans too would be in their right to take up arms and defend their homeland! Of course!

There is one thing that makes the examples very different from each other though: America was settled first by those who are immigrants today, while Europe and Britain is still (mostly) inhabited by those who settled here first.

So what to say about America? What is it? What do you think? (Please tell us why in the comment field below.) I suggest you vote after you have read the comments below and possible checked out some relevant links.

    Francais.

We spend much time behind our computer screens. We do to spread information, to learn and in fact to stay sane and feel that we actually do something that matters.

Yesterday our dear Skatyrne read this post and was inspired by it to make a similar memorial himself, and – not waiting a moment too long – today he did, and was kind enough to send a photo of it to me. Thank you very much for that, Skatyrne!

The text says, in the most beautiful language in the world: “In memory of the millions of human beings who fell victim to Communism”.

Steinhaug til minne om kommunismens ofre

It is located in a park in Sweden, right next to a pathway, where it will be seen by many passersby.

Being a bit slow myself, and attached to my PC like a piece of metal to a huge magnet, I have to say that when I see this work by Skatyrne I finally understand just how brilliant it is and is inspired to do something similar myself.

What if many of us did similar things? Every now and then, at least? It is not illegal. It is not offensive. It just reminds people of the fact that many were murdered under Communism. We could do the same for those who fell victim to Christianity too, or other vile ideologies. It might be good to do so in a world that is only reminded of the evil done by European men.

From now on, whenever somebody makes a statement or memorial like that, please photograph it and send it to me. I will do my best to publish or in other ways use any such photos I receive, hoping they will inspire others to do the same. Make sure though that you don’t break any laws when doing this. Don’t give the enemy any excuses to claim we are law-breakers.

Into the Sea… and Back again?

    First some appropriate music.

The Sun is everything for us. We can not exist without her. She rises in the East every day and travels across the firmament to the West, where she sets in the sea.

Along the Western coast of Scandinavia they used to build settlements in locations where they could see the Sun rise over a mountain top in the East. These mountains were seen as sacred and bore names such as Solberg, Solbjørg or other similar names meaning “Sun Mountain”. These settlements were also built near lakes or rivers, with names connected to Moon deities, such as *Skanþan (No. Skaði). *Skanþan was a Moon god of the mountains and mountain rivers, so he was naturally married to the sea goddess, *NerþuR. The water in the rivers runs into the sea, after all. They are one.

*Sôwili and *Manan, the Sun and the Moon, always appeared together, as a natural pair. Together they made up the palms of the Sky God, *TîwaR. Together they also made up the eyes of *WôðanaR, and thus made him the aspect of the Sky God connected to both the realm of the living and the realm of the dead. He has one eye on the Sky and one eye in the realm of death at all time. He thus knows the runes (i. e. secrets), of the dead and the living.

Our minds see into our living world, but also into the realm of death. We remember death every day, and suffer our ‘little death’ every night too, when we go to sleep, and wonder why it has to end one day for good. Some look forward to it. Others try not to think about it. Some fear it. Others don’t.

Death doesn’t trouble me. I have already done enough and seen enough to die satisfied. I fear more the return to life than I do death: when I join the Sun into the sea of forgetfulness, into the realm of death, and forget all that has been, what will I see when I return one day? Will I regret having come back? Will I harvest all the suffering and misery we sow today?

So I try to sow the good and just in Europe today, the pure and enlightened, the kind and warm, the healthy and beautiful; the European.

I might never return, but that doesn’t matter; thinking I might do will for sure help those who come after me, because it will make me work for a future for them, and I will eventually fade away knowing I did something good. What else can we expect as a reward from life? What else would anybody want? What better reward could anybody ask for?

I think having a Pagan mind might do us all good…
