При советской власти люди реально перли в математику, потому что это была единственная наука, в которой не нужно цитировать классиков марксизма-ленинизма. Вот это-то как раз и кончается на наших глазах. Ну типа - вы можете считать, что ваши статьи охуенные, но если все ваши коллеги публикуют по 10 статей в год, никто уже не станет разбитаться, какие из статей охуенные, а какие нет, столько статей все равно не прочесть. Поэтому у кого из математиков гениталии больше, придется выяснять по-старинке, методом демонстрации высокой приматности, а математические результаты окажутся за скобками. Сова (будучи в своем математическом творчестве очень далек от теори-билдинга) почему-то принял эссе Гауэрса про две математически культуры близко к сердцу и решил с ним бороться путем пропаганды величия Гротендика. Гротендик, конечно, велик, а второкультурщики козлы и быдло, но каждый математик занимается одновременно и теори-билдингом и проблем-солвингом, а его позиция в дебатах первокультурщиков и второкультурщиков в основном отражается на предисловии. Тот же Сова этому отличная иллюстрация, один из его наиболее ссылаемых текстов это просто сборник задач по его науке (хороший, но совсем-совсем не концептуальный). Но понятно, что норм математика от LLM-макаки, которая решит любую проблему с межнара, отличает именно то самое, способность концептуализировать. Ну то есть математиков второй культуры, вероятно, скоро отправят в утиль, вслед за шахматистами. Или не отправят, олимпийские бегуны живы-здоровы, хотя автомобиль гораздо быстрее. Но к математике олимпиадщина отношение всегда имела очень отдаленное, хотя без олимпиадных (и даже шахматных) способностей любому математику очень хуево. Тут я имплицитно выписываю из математики комбинаторику и пачку аналогичных наук, ну, имею право, хуле, проблемы Эрдеша не нужны вообще. Let me extract a couple of sentences from it that express what I see as the principal argument being put forward. But solving problems is only a tool and proxy for achieving the primary goal of conceptual understanding and insight. Forgetting this in the world of AI may turn the tool against the primary goal. Indeed, the mass production at faster and faster pace of "true/false" statements could destroy fertile ground instead of breathing life into new ideas. Perhaps the main reason I didn't sign is that I don't fully subscribe to this view. Instead, I have a more complicated view, which I actually expressed in my essay The Two Cultures of Mathematics a quarter of a century ago, and which can be summarized by saying that there is a spectrum of attitudes in mathematics to the relationship between problem-solving and conceptual understanding. My own particular mathematical attitude is very similar to one that was beautifully articulated in a Twitter post by Jacob Tsimerman (another non-signatory of the letter), which, now that I look at it, says a lot of what I will be saying here. And that post in turn is a response to Daniel Litt, who is in my opinion one of the wisest commentators on mathematics and AI. His views are expressed in a later post here, which I deliberately didn't read until finishing this one, and then found, as I expected, that there was significant overlap. Верифицирование текста в чем-то типа Lean не делает его лучше или понятнее, в итоге никакой пользы от непонятного доказательства миллионной по счету абстрактной бредятины никто не получает. Нематематику похуй на очередную абстрактную гипотезу, которую то ли доказали, то ли не доказали, а математику хочется, чтобы у нее было понятное доказательство, и не хочется читать гигабайты мутных вычислений. То есть на самом деле этот около-математический AI slop добавляет больше проблем, чем их решает. Среди подписантов Петер Шольце, Антуан Шамбер-Луар, Майкл Хатчинс, Карим Адипразито, Шарль Фавр и Симон Брендл, но в основном - аспиранты. Собственно, по аспирантам оно ударяет сильнее всего, потому что половина выпускников-математиков и так остаются без работы, а единственный способ прилично устроиться (если вы не часть мафии с папой-мамой на высоком посту в академии или прошаренным адвайзором, который имеет больше академического веса, чем заслуживает) это иметь много весомых результатов, надоказывать побольше каких-нибудь важных гипотез, вот это все. Усилиями AI-компаний ценность подобных подходов сводится к нулю. В итоге бедным аспирантам придется ожидать милости от комитета по приему на работу, который (в отсутствии других критериев) будет брать не самого хорошего, а самого политически удобного, по сути принуждая выпускника строить свою карьеру на конформизме и академической коррупции. Это, конечно, никому не нравится, каждый мечтает надоказывать побольше теорем, нарешать гипотез, и жить свободно и независимо, а сейчас такую лакомую возможность у них пытаются отобрать. 5:29p | rclone/megacmd Вот к этому: https://lj.rossia.org/users/tiphareth/2 Снова ебусь с mega.nz, который я себе уже давно поставил в замену дропбоксу; по функционалу они более-менее эквивалентны, просто дропбокс охуел вконец от монополии. Эту гнойную хуйню (клиент MEGAcmd) приходится регулярно компилировать заново, потому что иначе она ломается. Сегодня она потянула за собой гигабайт исходников, включая целиком icu и ffmpeg (в следующий раз она потянет хромиум, я гарантирую это). Поскольку я использую это говно строго в коммандлайне, компилировать ffmpeg мне не хочется, но старый рецепт (./configure --without-freeimage --without-ffmpeg) не сработал, пришлось читать исходники. Следующие при конфигурировании отключают графику. cmake -B build/build-cmake-MinSizeRel -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=MinSizeRel -DUSE_MEDIAINFO=OFF -DENABLE_MEDIA_FILE_METADATA=OFF -DUSE_FREEIMAGE=OFF -DNABLE_ISOLATED_GFX=OFF -DENABLE_QT_BINDINGS=OFF -DUSE_PDFIUM=OFF -DFULL_REQS=OFF Дальше cmake --build build/build-cmake-MinSizeRel и cmake --install build/build-cmake-MinSizeRel "Программистам", которые регулярно выкатывают новую кривую версию чего угодно, требуя переставить клиент, надо руки отпилить нахуй и залить чем-нибудь едким. Мне все эти гигабайты говнища нахуй не надо, а надо, чтобы работало то, что всегда работало. Вообще говна развелось дохуя. AI в теории должен помочь (путем геноцида гнойных мразей нахуй), на практике паразиты только сильнее размножаются. * * * Результат всего этого неутешительный, последняя версия megacmd спотыкается на ошибках в своей собственной базе данных (находит сотни старых версий каких-то файлов, абсолютно непонятно, почему именно этиц), сообщает, что у нее issues, и не работает. Я чистил-чистил эту базу данных, все бестолку. Старые версии клиента работают ок, последняя сломана и не чинится, похоже, в принципе. В итоге, установил у себя rclone, алгоритм работы такой. 1. rclone config 2. rclone bisync [home directory] mega:/MEGAsync --verbose --resync 3. запускать rclone bisync [home directory] mega:/MEGAsync --verbose по необходимости, демона у нее нет 4. Если нужен демон, должно работать следующее (можно положить в .xinitrc, например, или запускать из rc.local)

Вначале надо будет сделать touch $HOME/MEGAsync/RCLONE_TEST rclone touch mega:MEGAsync/RCLONE_TEST иначе --check-access сломается. Чтобы почистить сайт от дупликатов, надо написать rclone dedupe --dedupe-mode newest mega:MEGAsync (в облаке mega.nz можно иметь тысячи файлов с одним именем в одной директории, такие файлы синхронизируются хуево даже с rclone, а родной клиент megacmd убивают нахуй; наличие таких файлов это баг сервера по сути, но объяснить сие криворукому программеру невозможно, он скажет, что это фича). Если это не сделать, rclone будет каждый раз жаловаться. В итоге, я потер megacmd, поставил себе rclone с вышеописанным скриптом, посмотрим, будет ли оно работать, и как именно.
