    job posting in New York

    This isn't relevant anymore :( Freeze

    Once again, those on you who live in US or Canada and can easily come in for the interview may be interested in the following job posting. You can duplicate this in all kinds of appropriate places but this is not necessary.

    Senior Programmer wanted

    One of the best hi-tech/financial employers in New York City is looking to fill a senior programmer position in its R&D department. The pay is quite good and working environment is very intense but nice.
    We have tried to fill this slot in our group (I am NOT the hiring manager) for quite some time.

    Here's the list of necessary skills and required experience levels:

    1. C on UNIX experience at least 5 years with large applications

    2. Good C++. We're a C shop but C++ development has started and it's picking up steam

    3. Strong understanding of basic computer science and software engineering elements such as data structures

    4. Strong working knowledge of UNIX (scripting etc.)

    5. Knowledge of "modern technologies". Anything goes in this category e.g. experience with one or more RDBMS, XML and alike

    6. Very good English is a must. That is, your spoken language will have to be fluent

    Note, the word "experience" means only industrial experience, not coursework at college.
    Note You have to be in New York for the interview to happen. The company can and will arrange for working visas for a matching candidate but it will want you to be in New York City on a short notice. They sometimes fly good candidates in from other cities in the US.

    As I said the pay is more than decent (early 100s + bonus and very nice benefits for this position).

    Finally, I am not a recruiter neither will I profit monetarily from your employment should it commence. I would love to see a fellow phystech or just a nice smart person fill this position. Please e-mail me at yanis@maxf.net or leave comments to this posting.
