два мира Шведская группа Trad Gras Och Stenar делится впечатлениями
о концертах в Москве (текст перебит вручную с вкладки к диску
Hemlosa katter, издательство Gashud/Subliminal Sounds):
When we're on tour we only bring guitars, often also cymbals.
The organizers are informed in advance that amplifiers,
loudspeakers and drums are needed. In most cases we're provided
with decent equipment but occasionally we meet with surprises.
In Moscow we got something resembling a drum kit and a box that
almost could be able to function as a bass rig, but only one
guitar amp. The previously sympathetic organizer was now transformed
to a tough club boss. Jakob and Bo Anders were supposed to play
on the same amplifier. Any electrical guitar player knows that's
not a clever solution! After demosntrating our fury, they
reluctantly brought a little box for Jakob. It was in a condition
even worse than the rest of the equipment.
The club, Na Brestskoy, was very fashionable, much too "arty" for
us. The entrance fee was obviously sky-high and the audience was
in some other place than our earthy music-harrowing. We made a
terrible performance. The whole show was documented on video if
anyone is in doubt.
The following night in St.Petersburg turned out completely different.
An international festival with lots cheerful young people in an
enormous former cinema. The song In komer Gosta simultaneously
translated into Russian. The response of the audience showed that
they fully understood what the song was about.
"Москвичи, хуле".
Для справки -- группа Trad Gras Och Stenar это типа шведский Can,
We've sent an e-mail to Makoto (Kawabata Makoto, AMT -- Д.М.),
asking if he could possibly find a place for us to stay the three
days after the gigs until our return to Sweden. He answered that
we could stay at his little Buddha temple in the mountains high above
Asuka. But he told us Japanese houses could be very cold in winter,
especially like this temple, situated 500 meters above sea level.
Afterwards Makoto revealed the reason for his anxiety - he's bee
traveling in Sweden and knows we're living in insulated and heated
houses. So he was really concerned about how we would bear the cold.
But these hardy Scandinavians slept well in + 4 C, in military
sleeping bags wearing woolen caps and most of our clothes. In fact,
Makoto had a computer-controlled kerosene heater. Nobody knows how
cold it could have been without it. We explained to Makoto that we
are used to those conditions when reaching unheated countryside houses
in wintertime in Sweden. The first night always is like that, you are
shivering for a while, then sleeping well. Makoto could feel relief.
As for himself, he was barefoot in his cold temple.
