Monsters in disguise You may have recently received an email appearing to be from Monster. Today, Monster was alerted to this fraudulent email, which asked for membership verification and included a link to a website that looks like a legitimate Monster webpage; the webpage asked for personal information, including bank account and credit card numbers. Monster is proactively alerting its active job seeker members to confirm that this fraudulent email is NOT a Monster-sanctioned communication. We wanted to notify you about this email, so that you can take the proper steps to protect yourself by not providing this personal information. We are currently investigating this situation, as we are committed to providing a secure and rewarding experience for all of our job seeker members, and it is important to notify you about any potential misuse of the Monster site or its brand. If you did receive this fraudulent email and provided your personal information, you should immediately report it to your local authorities as well as visit the Internet Fraud Complaint Center, a partnership between the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center, at http://www1.ifccfbi.gov. Job seekers who suspect they have encountered a fraudulent or questionable email communication are encouraged to alert Monster’s Job Seeker Services by emailing reportfraud@monster.com. Below are a couple of red flags on how to spot a potential fraudulent email: * Fraudulent emails often request personal information, including bank account, PIN number, and Social Security Number. You will never be asked to verify your membership with Monster by providing your bank information. Please click here for additional Internet safety tips: http://help.monster.com/besafe/. * Any official webpage for Monster will always contain the Monster domain (http://www.monster.com/). “Monster” will always come before the .com in an official Monster web address. Please verify that the web address on your browser looks appropriate. If you have any concerns, please contact the Monster support team at reportfraud@monster.com.
