Peace talks

*Israel and its allies must face facts: peace talks are the only way forward, and they will have to include Hamas.* I agree more or less with the views of this article.

However, I find in it a practice that is foolish and unilluminating: that of labeling countries, by their international relations, as "global south" and "global north." These makes a real physical geographical distinction of little importance into a misleading metaphor that tries to equate geography with politics. That association would be profound if it were true, but being false, it becomes an excuse for prejudice.
