Oliver Campbell conviction overturned
UK thugs bullied Oliver Campbell into a false confession by interrogating
him over and over until they wore down his insistence on telling the truth.
Now, 30 years later, his conviction has been overturned.
The surprisingly high frequency of false confessions is well
established. Correcting these injustices one by one, years later, is
better than letting them stand, but it is not good enough. The thugs'
systematic methods of extracting false confessions from weak and
vulnerable people should be prohibited.
