Tendencies of the Political Development in Eastern Europe

Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University (VU IIRPS) and Lithuanian Political Science Association invites the presentation proposals for the annual conference “Tendencies of the Political Development in Eastern Europe”, which will take place November 17-18, 2005 in Vilnius.

The Conference is dedicated to analyse political process of the countries of Eastern Europe (Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova), discuss the methodological and theoretical problems analysing this region, to present the research on Eastern Europe implemented by the researchers from Central Europe.

The following topics are proposed for the conference:

- Process of democratisation and state-building in the Eastern Europe
- Political communication, mass media, electoral processes
- Problems of public administration in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova
- Foreign policy of New Independent States: between US, Russia, and the EU
- Current situation and prospects of post-soviet studies
