Barking Demonstration 14th January 2012
 
The year has got off to a good start with the first demo of the year.   On January the 14th, The EDL held a protest in support of the local residents of the Green Lane area of Barking.  The residents there are opposing the building of a mosque in the area.  Planning permission for the mosque was given despite objections from nearly 3,000 residents.  Barking is already well served by mosques in the area and the particular group involved - the Masjid-e-Ali, a Shia Muslim group already have a mosque.  See our write up here (link).
 

The day was a success and our protest, largely peaceful if vocal, passed without incident.  It was a good day for the EDL in Barking.  However, the day was marred when members of the EDL decided without consent from the EDL Leadership to visit the Whitechapel area of East London and the East London mosque.  Unfortunately, the local Muslim youth got wind and soon gathered in large numbers to oppose the unofficial EDL presence.  Unfortunately in such a volatile area, violence flared and one member of the EDL was hospitalised and several police arrests were made (these were largely Muslim youths who were later released without charge).
 
The EDL do not oppose Muslims, but are against extremist Islam and Islamists.  The EDL protests against Islamic extremism in a peaceful way and condemn violence no matter who starts it.  Muslims are not the problem, Islam is and it is that we are opposed to.  We would like to remind everyone that your actions will be used to paint the EDL in a negative light wherever possible.  Please remember this and please avoid confrontation with Muslims unless it's officially sanctioned by the EDL leadership.
 
Leicester 4th February 2012
 
Another protest is planned for February 4th in Leicester.  This one needs to be a big as possible so if you can make please do.  If you need transport or help getting there, get in touch with your regional organisers or divisional leaders.  Why are we going to Leicester?  This is explained fully on the main website (link here).  Briefly, we will be in Leicester to protest at the two-tier system being operated by the judiciary, the police and crown prosecution service.   Apparently it's not racist to call a young woman, 'white slag' and 'white bitch' whilst beating her up, whilst it's racist to colourfully tell a collection of foreigners that they should go back to their home countries.

Apparently beating some up and insulting them for their colour deserves nothing more than a slap on the wrist whilst telling people who are not citizens of this country that they should go home deserves to be held in prison, have their children taken in to care and treated as if they had committed something worse than murder.
 
Please also make a note on your calendar for February 6^th.  The EDL will be protesting outside Liverpool crown court.  Once again a Muslim gang are being tried for operating a sex-ring which specifically targeted white girls.  11 men will be tried for a crime that is becoming all too familiar but is being covered-up by the judiciary and the media.  Even the politicians have largely stayed silent.   Jack Straw, the former Home Secretary, knew of this problem but was castigated as a racist for pointing out that it was a largely male Pakistani problem.  He failed to bring this to light when he was Home Secretary and he also failed to mention that it was a problem with a specific section of the male Pakistani population, - the Muslim male Pakistani.

Why is it that Muslim male Pakistani’s in particular, are specifically targeting white girls?  Could it be something to do with the religion that teaches that non-Muslims are lower than animals or sons of pigs and apes? 
 
It’s a pattern that is emerging more and more frequently.  Yet the authorities are failing to address the causes and are merely slapping a plaster on the symptoms.  If you are near to Liverpool and can attend the protest please do.  We need to make the people of this country aware of the evil that is being perpetrated in the name of religion.  Girls of all ages and of any race, creed or colour should be protected from this kind of behaviour.  Sweeping the cause under the carpet will not stop it.  Confronting it will!

Urgent Appeal for Help!

Next month sees the long awaited CH4 Dispatches programme that has been filmed over the course of a year. As a result we anticipate a huge wave of interest in the English defence League and also an enormous surge in Internet traffic and activity. In order to be prepared for that increase in interest and traffic we need to prepare for it and be ready when it comes. The last thing we want is for hundreds of thousands or even millions of potential new supporters to hit our website only to find that it is offline due to sheer weight of traffic!

We can solve that issue now by putting extra servers in place and hiring extra engineers and specialists that can ensure that the website stays online. In order to do that, though – we will need funds. This programme has been over a year in the making and it is absolutely vital that we benefit from the massive boost in interest in our cause and everything we stand for. Please, help us to ensure that we are able to cope with this demand and interest by making a small contribution to the costs we need to incur at this pivotal stage in our existence. We’ve carried the fight this far and we’ve been through no end of struggles to get this far. Let’s make sure our opponents do not have the last laugh and that we and our web presence stands firm at this crucial time.

At the end of March 10 counter-jihad groups will meet in Aarhus in Denmark, Most of these are other defence leagues from around Europe.  There will be speeches and discussions on the European resistance to the Islamisation of the continent.  The meeting is being hosted by the Danish Defence League along with the Swedish Defence League.  Tommy Robinson will be there to represent the EDL.   "We're hoping this will be the launch of a wider European Defence League," Tommy Robinson said when interviewed. "We don't expect it to be big, but our first event wasn't that big, and they're just going to get bigger and bigger."
 
A flash demo was held by the EDL in Rochdale on the 14th of January.  They were protesting at the local ASDA store to highlight the company's policy on selling unmarked halal meat.  The demonstration passed peacefully and without incident.  Unfortunately, the public still seem to be unaware of the realities of halal meat and its distribution by ASDA. 
 
In Dewsbury on the 14th January, a protest, organised by the EDL, was held outside Dewsbury police station.  50 people came to protest at the very lenient sentence handed to the Muslim murderer of just 21 months.  The sentence has been described by the victim's family as an insult.  The prosecutors are making an appeal against leniency of the sentencing.  A minutes silence was held for the victim and speeches were given.  Police report the protest was peaceful, with no disturbance or arrests.
