Video: Building a Supercomputer with Raspberry Pi & Legos

The folks at the University of Southampton study commodity hardware — and they’ve put together 64 Raspberry Pi units (Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer) with some Legos, memory and switches, and got a supercomputer (well, sort of.) In an effort to inspire the next generation of computer scientists, the project shows what can be done with cheap parts. Simon Cox, Professor of Computational Methods, explains the simple project was meant to encourage others to explore, especially since it came in at approximately a $4,000 USD price tag.
