«This movie has recently taken a place (alongside such gilded classics asPlan 9 from Outer Space and Manos, Hands of Fate) on my list of the WorstMovies of All Time. But don't let that discourage you! This movie israrely less than entertaining. Yoko Ono stars (oddly enough, she gets topbilling, even though this film was released a good three years before shebecame widely known) as a young Japanese who comes to the U.S. as thefiancee of a drug-smuggling government agent. And that's about as muchsense as one can make of the plot, such as it is. The rest involveshomicidal perverts and a succession of deeply unpleasant individuals.Whether you're pro-Yoko or anti-Yoko, you can't help but feel awful forhercharacter in this film. Never before have I seen a pathetically innocentcharacter treated so badly in a film. And that's where the caveat comesin:this movie can be a very nasty experience in places. The group ofmurderousperverts rape and kill a number of women before the film is over, andYoko'scharacter is frequently subjected to the nonconsensual sexual attentionsofa portly, greasy-looking gentleman. It makes one wonder how anyone couldhave seen this film as genuine, unironic entertainment. The frequentnudityis barely titillating, and the nonstop sexual nastiness ought to be enoughto remove any hope of arousal. That being said, this film is useful as anhistorical relic of the grindhouse market and is sufficient to whet yourB-movie appetite».

Grindhouse is an American term for a theater that shows exploitation films; it is also used as an adjective to describe the genre of films that would play in such a theatre. While just about any film that had too much sex or too much violence to play in a mainstream theatre was fair game for the grindhouses, the term has connotations of leaning more towards movies that were unacceptable by the terms of the mainstream: especially brutally violent films, films with bizarre or perverse plot points, etc.
