How the UK's prime minister was chosen
The UK's current prime minister was chosen by the members of the Tory Party.
They include foreigners who don't live in Britain and can't vote in elections.
They also include rich people who secretly buy a share in party decisions.
*The more loudly a politician proclaims [per] patriotism, the more
likely [perse is] to act on behalf of foreign money. Every recent
Conservative prime minister has placed the interests of transnational
capital above the interests of the nation. But, to a greater
extent than any previous leader, Truss’s politics have been shaped by
organisations that call themselves thinktanks, but would be better
described as lobbyists who refuse to reveal who funds them. Now she
has brought them into the heart of government.*
