Debian "Stretch" release delayed slightly The Debian "Stretch" release isn't expected for more than a year, but it just has been pushed back a couple of months, with the full freeze now scheduled for February 5 of next year. The reason is to be able to ship with the first kernel of the year (expected to be 4.10) that, by current plans, should be a long-term support release. "For the avoidance of doubt, this change is a one-off to align with an expected release of Linux only. We aren't in a position to try and accommodate other projects, however much we'd like to be able to." |
