Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) has been released. "Under the hood, there
have been updates to many core packages, including
a new 4.8-based kernel, a switch to gcc-6, and much more." The
flavors Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu GNOME, Ubuntu Kylin, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu
Studio, and Xubuntu have also been released. Ubuntu 16.10 will be
supported for 9 months.
