Hyper-Converged Infrastructure is a Mixed Bag for Cybersecurity (FB)
Data centers are increasingly moving to hyper-converged infrastructure to reduce costs and streamline maintenance. But there are also security disadvantages of moving to hyper-converged infrastructure, experts interviewed by Data Center Knowledge warn. The risks include vulnerabilities due to security policy misconfigurations, moving access and administration up the stack along with security controls, blind spots in existing security tools not designed with HCI in mind, and more difficult forensics.
