In an interview, her mother, Sandra Leong, said the university left Mr. Nungesser in an untenable position. Regarding a hearing process in which so many Columbia students appear to have lost faith, Ms. Leong, who lives in Manhattan said, “I think by sweeping it under the rug they’ve subjected him to a very painful, scarring experience. I don’t see it as Emma’s fault because she just had to do what she had to do but I do see it as the school’s fault.”

Она (Эмма Сулковиц) просто должна была сделать то, что сделала, а во всем виновата школа...
С какой стати Эмма должна была сделать то, что она сделала, - если это фальшивое обвинение в изнасиловании, а имел быть место секс по обоюдному согласию, который Эмма затем решила по каким-то причинам превратить в художественный фарс и травлю собрата по студенчеству?
Откуда это "должна"?
Должна видимо не постольку, поскольку обязана восторжествовать правда, правосудие; наказание виновных и утешение жертв, а просто потому что обязана восторжествовать Эмма. В таком случае виновата вовсе не школа, а мама Эммы, которая её так и воспитала. В духе достижения американской мечты любой ценой.
Кстати, студент Nungesser, обвиняемый - сын бедных родителей из Германии, выиграл стипендию и учился, потому что бесплатно. Публично заявлял, что его воспитали феминистом.
И его, видимо, как самого безответного и выбрали как объект политической травли и предмет художественной инсталляции.
Для достижения американской мечты, никак иначе. Она должна была сделать то, что сделала. Отсюда кстати и эпизоотия шлюх-золотоискательниц, разоряющих бывших мужей до нитки после развода "они должны делать, что делают", и покончивший с собой актер Робин Вильямс, всей этой невыносимой прелести современной жизни не выдержавший.
