Как я не прочитал Силь.

Эн лет назад таки решился прочитать Сильмариллион.
Английский файл с картинками и диакритикой подвешивал мою старую читалку, пришлось искать переводы.
В одном были "айнуры", в другом "витязи", и хотя профессор наверняка рекомендовал переводить на пёсью мову
именно так, выбрал третий, с блэкджэ "айнур" и "воинами".
И где-то под Нуменором, во второй половине книги, меня стало накрывать. После этого отрывка

"Таково было коварство его речей, что не прошло и трех лет, а он был уже близок к сокровенным делам короля,
и видя благосклонность, которой он пользовался у повелителя, все советники короля стали расточать ему ласки,
кроме Амандиля, повелителя Акуидие.
И в стране начали происходить перемены, и в сердца Друзей эльфов проникла тревога.
И когда за закрытыми дверями Ар-Фаразон спросил Саурона:
– Кто это – Владыка Тьмы?
Саурон ответил:
– Его имя – Мелькор, и он сделает тебя сильнее всех.
И тогда король Ар-Фаразон стал поклоняться Тьме и ее владыке Мелькору, и люди последовали его примеру.

я понял, что читаю не профессора, не мог Джон такого написать! Поковырял оригинал — и правда, не мог:
