Net russkogo segodnya. Chinese grammar is relatively simple; the major implication is the writing system and the tones. More complicated work = more logograms a person has to know. How it's possible to remember 5000-7000 logograms even without their pronunciation? Same thing with Japanese: relatively simple grammar, no complex tonal system but logograms + their on+kun readings + two alphasyllabaries + ungodly amount of homophony.
