Maybe it too migrated to greener pastures like lj.rossia.org? :-)

The Mars program is really great: relatively cheap, enduring, and educational. I remember how, N years ago, in grad school, we studied a case of "priority inversion" (when, in a computer system, a less important job prevents a more important job from executing because it holds a shared resource, so that another less important job which does not depend on the resource gets to execute) in Mars Pathfinder, at one of the earlier stages. I wish we could have had something like this back in high school or before.
