Unrelated but all of a sudden I'm getting friended left and right by Russian bot accounts. Do you know anything about what's going on?

Russian (or Russian-speaking, anyway) bots have been around in LJ for ages now. I mean, for several years. They used to friend/unfriend me about once a day. It's less frequent now. But it takes just one idiot enthusiast to have the tubes clogged.

I think they can be ignored unless they start posting comments; then it becomes serious.

I am not aware of anything special going on in the Russian segment of LJ, just the usual, uh, stuff. :-)
