Looks like I'm going to be working on a film script for The Dragon Griaule stories. I'm still in discussion on the parameters of the project, whether it's to be a single movie, several movies, or what, so it's all a bit nebulous at ths juncture. The deal is going to be a weird one, maybe structured like the new Hollywood is going to be structured. The guy I'll be doing the script for is a packager who's very successful at getting movies made and has several million-dollar scriptwriters working on scripts for him at 75K apiece. I am not a million-dollar scriptwrirter so I'll be getting significantly less, but still it's a good chunk as far as I'm concerned, especially in this economy. If the movie gets made, i get a lot more, but I'm happy with things now because this will allow me to keep writing what I want.
