Cats protect you from rodent infestation. It is better having a cat in house, than a ton of mouses, rats and hamsters, who can easily destroy your storage and crops.

Очень смешно. Может это и было актуально и ещё где-то актуально, но только в 1% случаев. Остальные держат свои припасы (и припасы для своих котов) в консервных банках.
